Tokyo Electron's Austin HQ on the market – Urbanize Austin

Austin
Tokyo Electron’s 107-acre U.S. headquarters campus in Southeast Austin is on the market. The semiconductor company is looking for new area digs but will not scale back its local operations, the Austin American-Statesman reported Tuesday.
Tokyo Electron supplies semiconductor manufacturing equipment and related services to computer chip manufacturers including Samsung, which has a longtime presence in the area and is building a $17 billion factory in Taylor, northeast of Austin.
CBRE is marketing the campus, which is at 2400 Grove Boulevard. Tokyo Electron said it’s looking for a new location in Austin and is in negotiations for new headquarters from which to expand its research and development and training capability. It’s also opening a field office near the future Taylor Samsung plant.
The current campus includes 46.8 acres with an office and an R & D building connected by an enclosed walkway and measuring 142,000 square feet and 47,800 square feet respectively. The property also has 60.3 acres of raw land.
The site has industrial mixed-use zoning that allows for high-density multifamily, office, general commercial, and other complementary uses, CBRE brokers said.
The company is offering its Austin campus “on an individual basis, or as a package, each with the potential for attractive seller financing,” according to CBRE’s marketing materials.
