15 Taiwanese companies, incubation centers discuss semiconductor investment

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A Taiwanese trade delegation visited Oregon on Monday (June 17) and Tuesday (June 18) to explore investment opportunities.
According to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Seattle, the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) organized the delegation’s trip, per CNA. Cooperating with the Oregon Business Development Department, the group included representatives from 15 Taiwanese companies and incubation centers.
The Seattle office said the visit helped expand diversified cooperation between Taiwan and the U.S. in various fields such as AI and electric vehicles, as well as integrating into the high-tech ecosystem in the Pacific Northwest.
The delegation also attended a semiconductor business forum co-hosted by the Oregon state government and the Seattle office. During the forum, Taiwanese and U.S. representatives discussed industry cooperation, research and education, and double taxation relief.
Following the visit, the delegation will participate in the SelectUSA Investment Summit held in Maryland from June 23-26.
Washington County, Oregon, is known as “Silicon Forest” due to its concentration of tech companies like Intel and Hewlett-Packard (HP).
