Preferred Networks is part of government push to revive domestic industry
TOKYO — Japan’s Preferred Networks will use Samsung Electronics’s cutting-edge 2-nanometer technology for a government-backed effort to develop advanced chips for generative AI.
The Tokyo-based AI chip startup will use Samsung’s production and packaging technology to produce the chip it is developing, the South Korean company announced on Tuesday. Samsung will also be responsible for producing test chips for Preferred Networks.
