The most recent forecast from World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) indicates that semiconductor sales will rebound significantly in 2024, increasing by 13.1%.
Regionally, January sales increased year-on-year in China (26.6%), the Americas (20.3%), and Asia Pacific/All other (12.8%), but decreased in Japan (-6.4%) and Europe (-1.4%). Europe was the sole regional market to experience yearly growth in semiconductor sales for 2023, SIA said based on its findings for the year. Global semiconductor sales totaled $526.8 billion in 2023, representing an 8.2% decrease from the industry’s all-time high of $574.1 billion in 2022.
