Apple's manufacturing experience in India better than China: EAM S Jaishankar – The Economic Times
Surat, Gujarat: During his interaction with business leaders, EAM Dr S Jaishankar says “…In the last decade, we have formed an image that the results of good governance in India are being seen across the world…Last year in June, we went to America, there is a very famous company Micron that has its own standing in the semiconductor field, so at that time they decided that they would come to India, their factory is now being set up in Gujarat. I met the CEO of Micron a few days ago and he told me that my experience was that Gujarat and Central Govt went after me saying that this is the timetable and we are absolutely ready. The situation in India today is such that there is pressure on the one who wants to invest as we have everything ready here, you come and invest. A company named Apple does most of the production in China but today if you ask them about their experience in India, you will get a better testimonial than anywhere else. When today we say ‘easier to do business’, such examples in the global investment community give us credibility…”
